1. since the first term that is 3 has denominator 1 cross multiply 2 so we get,

3-1/2x=6x-1/2x

2.given 1/2x=1/2y
since 1/2 is common on both sides cancel we get
x=y

1st and second answers are Neither correct for the first problem.

1st answer is NOT correct if the problem is as written, because it is already in it's simplest form...

Second answer is close to correct if it is actually (3-1)/2x instead of 3-0.5x, but the answer would be 1/x, not x

Take a look at the problem, though both are correct, you will need to give the exact problem if you want correct help on your math questions.

NetNet would not be correct because there is not a +/- sign before the "x" in the first problem.

The second problem, answers 1&2 are correct.

well the top one is 3-1=2 divided by 2x which equals x

the bottome one you divide both sides by 1/2 and you come up with x=y....

heyy!
If 1/2 x = 1/2 y
x =y

if u want to simplify the expression then,
replace x by y in the expression and u will get
3-1/2y

that's it really

think its 3 -1/2 = 2.5 = x then 1/2 x (1.25) = 1/2 y (1.25)
