beroepsvereniging is in fact a Flemish word.
It is a kind of organization that groups all the people that practice the same kind of independent profession. ( lets say the plumbers, the doctors, the farmers, etc. )
You can say that it is a kind of union for the independent .

It is Dutch (or Flemish) and it is a type of association like ACME. it is not much used any more. It was a kind of association of working groups that gave some legal protection.
For example most of the beekeeper were founded around 1900 and they are almost all Beroepsvereniging.
Modern clubs or associations tend to take the legal construction of VZW (Vereniging zonder Winstbejag or association without purpose of benefit) The opposite is for factories NV (naamloze vereniging) which may make benefice.
Both Beroepsvereniging or VZW should not make benefice or at least distribute this to the members.
