I'm going to assume you live in an apartment, or u have had plumbing work done in ur house. The black sludge is leftovers of a washer thats fallen apart.

Sounds as though it may be a mixture of dirt and mud from a broken pipeline somewhere! You have a big problem if that's the case! Lucky for you, I'm no expert, but it sounds as though that might indeed be it! I'll be hoping that it's not, but in the meantime, call someone who IS an expert, whether it's a plumber friend, or simply a plumber.

That can happen when the town is cleaning out the lines. I have also seen that after big rains. It is probably mostly mud and sludge build up. I lived in an oil area and there was a lot of that there.

I hope it's not raw sewage. I've had that come up out of my bathtub after the idiots who mowed the apartment lawns mowed the outdoor pvc pipe. It smelled, and it happened a few times until they called the plumbers to come un-clog the clog. Hope it's not that! Why haven't you called the plumber yet???

Taste it! If it gives you a buzz and makes you ill, bottle it, label it and sell it! "Available while supply lasts!"
