Your problem is you think they are REAL people! Haven't you caught on yet? They are the Mc robots and they are programed to ask: Would you like some fries with that?, after someone has stood in front of them for more then 1 minute! It is an automatic response!!!

I think the counter girl is on a routine mode.. that question should come after "i would like a burger.." or anything that excludes fries...
Give her a smile the next time... she prob needs some smiles in her life taking orders.. it ain't easy standing behind the counter...

She was probably trying to see if you would be dumb enough to pay for another order of fries. She's a McHustler.

It's really not her fault - I'm sure that McDonalds trains her to ask that question all the time, so it becomes automatic.
She's not dumb, just running on automatic.
If you had to work at McDonalds, wouldn't you tune out sometimes and run on auto pilot?

At McDonalds pay they can't get very smart people to work for them. They keep enough people on that staff so no one gets 40 hours a week so they don't have to pay benefits and their pay stinks so who else would work for them?
