I am an aspiring actress who has been working hard for 8 years trying to educate myself and train myself in the industry. I have attended acting classes and have been in over 8 theater productions (one of which I held the lead role) and have done modeling jobs. I am 18 now and am wondering if I have enough experience to take classes in LA at a school I have been accepted to. Am I ready? If not what else should I do? And if yes, should I make the move to LA ?

Stay where you are, you are not ready, also, L.A., can eat you alive if you are not prepared, and are not from a major city in the U.S. There are many excellent acting teachers in L.A., you will be competing with actors that have had terrific training/coaching. Many of the actors may already be auditions for film, television and commercials. You would be competiting with actors that have a lot of experience.

Modeling has nothing to do with acting. The modeling you did in your home town, is not the same "high fashion" modeling as in L.A. L.A. is a very expensive city, in which to live, apartments are expensive. Food and transportation are expensive.

Stay home, get some acting jobs (a lead role in your home town, means nothing in L.A.) You are not ready. If you are serious about acting get a B.A. degree in theater and then an M.A. degee, when you finish the M.A., you can go to L.A. or NYC, and really compete with the other actors.

Where do you live now? If it isn't CA, I would consider a different school. Actors and actresses have probably attended just about every college and university there is, any edge the LA school has is marginal at best. Get a real education that you can fall back on in the event that acting doesn't pan out the way you hoped. Good luck.

Be Bold, decisive and sure of yourself at all times. If you fall down, get back up. Most people fail because they lack the will power or self esteem to succeed. And above all, don't ever let others intimidate you, because they will surely try.
