Instead of choosing the blantantly obvious people that others will surely select, my list is a mix of people that are more current than past, have really put SA on the map and have provided joy to others...

Ok, so here goes, excluding myself of course hehe:

Seether - SA music band that is making it big internationally

Charlize Theron - Awesome Oscar winning actress that keeps on giving great performances. Plus she is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood.

Ryk Neethling and Roland Schoeman - Unbelievably gifted swimmers that are pure class. I'll never forget the look on the Amercan relay team's faces when we thumped them at the 4x100 relay at Athens 2004.

Mark Shuttleworth - Great entrepreneur that followed his dreams, yet still remains humble.

Steve Hofmeyr - Yes that's right, Steve Hofmeyr! Though he has been constantly criticised, he remains one of SA's top selling musicians and is a legend in his own right. Wies joe papa!

Robbie Wessels - Fast becoming a legend as well. The man who played the role of "Poena" can sing and dance classically :-) Just ask anyone who is a fan of "leeuloop."

Jaco Pretorius - For scoring three tries on the weekend in favour of the Lions to beat WP. Ha Ha, sorry Porgie!

Wikus van Heerden - Gotta mention him, even though he probably should not be on the list for "10 greatest", but the man has led the Lions admirably over the last few years and has proven himself to be a tireless servant of the game. Now I heard he is moving to the Bulls :-(

Hansie Cronje - I already hear some people muttering but fact is, he is the most successful captain we've had and was an outstanding leader. It was a great loss that we lost him to a plane accident.

Ernie Els - World Class golfer and general all-round nice guy.

So there's my list, with a bit of a bias towards current events :-)

Cheers
