I don't know myself. Sometimes I look at people and I wonder what makes them want to wake up everyday? And those kids who take guns and kill themselves and other people-what have they lost so that they must result to this? We have the free will to object to life-so why are we still here?

The question as stated is, "What is worth living for?" and my answer to that would be for the future of mankind. If asked, "Why are we here?" my answer would be to teach and learn and with both, to grow spiritually. We do have a free will to object to life, but we choose to come here. Progression, not regression. Looking at all the negative only puts your mind and soul in the negative. Don't let evil prevail, be a part of a bigger, better picture.
What's worth living for is a future for other to live in.

I still stand at night alone on my deck overlooking the ocean and I ponder the nightmare that happened to my spirit as a hospice nurse in the pre-cocktail AIDS epidemic. I saw so much death. So much of it was a horrible waste of young life. But, I'm OK these days. And, I write for children now. I just finished a pretty little children's short story about the preciousness of life. I was just a horrible, lost, hurt soul a few years ago. Now, I get to sneak beneath the Christmas tree this year for my grandchildren a real-live published book dedicated to them about the preciousness of LIFE! Keep your chin up, darling. It's not about what dark things happen to us. It's about what bright and hopeful things you and I can bring to the world. Just focus on the love and goodness in your own heart. THAT'S what life is worth living for, that precious sparkle of love and goodness that we each come into this world with. It's about what we do with that sparkle within us. Create, express, explore, dream, love, savor, help, teach, heal, nurture. With all your heart.

it all depends on what you value as worth, the love of family and friend is what I value the most.I think when kids aren't loved is when they turn to hate and violence
