As a fellow arachnaphobe (I refused to walk, feed or clean up after the dog for a week because of finding a huntsman outside in the bin we use to dispose of his poo and empty dog cans etc), I dream of someday living in a place where there aren't spiders hiding in the walls. And my husband took care of the dog for me but he left the spider and called me a big hairy girl of a wife (which I freely admit I am).

Some brilliant answers here - I'm liking the idea of the pole and yes, being a great big hairy girl of a wife means I'll be a little warmer in the Atlantic. Being an arachnaphobe also means I can't stand the sight of spiders and tend to have panic attacks and have trouble breathing - I don't even like seeing them dead in glass...
As a kid I had a dead Tarantula thrown at me - it was in science class, in a case and the boy who threw it did it as a way of asking me out??!! - halfway between my frozen body and his throwing arm the case fell off and the spider kept travelling and it hit me in the chest and slid down the inside of my school dress - not as sexy as it sounds considering I passed out and had to go to hospital...

Hate to tell you this- but no. Spiders are EVERYWHERE. Oh, I suppose you can probably pitch a tent somewhere near the South Pole for a few weeks around the end of June- & maybe not be botherd by one. -But then, I don't think you're going to see a heck of alot of ANYTHING down there around then (not even relatives- if you're lucky). And hey- what's wrong with being hairy? Some of the prettiest girls I've ever known had hair I loved to get lost in! ...-To each, his own... :)

I have fun feeding the bears in the south pole! You should try to get over your fear, you can go to a psychiatrist and he could help you slowly get over the fear. I use to be scared of spiders and I moved to Denver, we had a lot of spiders and I just got over it. Good Luck

There is always going to be spiders everywhere so not much luck there, but if you go to England they are only harmless spiders but the most common one is a garden spider and guess where they live

anywhere that it is too cold for them too live. North/South Pole, Greenland, As long as the temperature is below the temperature that they can live, you should be good to go. I hate spiders too!!

Spiders don't thrive in the cold, so somewhere like Serbia, Northern Russia - anywhere where its really cold would be best.
