why is intel making things so complecated. i have a duo core but i see that they have core duo and core duo 2?

The answer is simple. core 2 duo is the next step in their progression & they want you to buy and keep them in profit. The core 2 duo supposedly is better than core duo, but seeing as they have only recently been released there is yet to be confirmation of this

I have a Centrino Duo..T2500 chipset/2ghz 667FSB
ITS FASTER than my P 4 3.2ghz (I thought)
On SETI@ HOME BOINC my P4 would do 20..work units a day
My Centrino Duo is doing 11? What gives?
