Surprise him. Don't buy him a gift. Think of what your talents are and use them to do something special for him. For valentines day, I memorized a barry mantilow song and sang accapella to her. She didn't see it coming and loved it. Think what are you really good at and work hard with creativity to maximize your talent. He is probably planning to do a lot, so he is more focused on himself doing everything right. When the big day comes he will be doing all of his things, then you can slip your gift in either in the middle or when he seems to have done everything he had planned. If you are a good actress, set up a time with your girlfriends to "go shopping" so he thinks you are buying him something. Be obvious about it and then wow him with something totally unique on your anniv. Good luck!

I have taken my wife to many different things. All she just loved. 1) A dinner theater where they serve a elegant dinner then do a live theatrical proformance.
2) A boat cruise on a river. This was a evening cruise that included dinner.
3) Horseback riding with a picnic
4) A night at home without the kids around. A homemade meal made by me. And chick flicks all night. She loved this because I'm into action and adventure movies and so she knew I did it just for her.
Just a few things I've done she loved
