I've been riding since about 1973, so I have been around the block a time or two. I have had all sorts of bikes including Hardly Ablesons.

I think that when there were fewer bikes on the road it was easier to give a friendly wave, but sometimes there are just too many bikes out on the fun roads to be bothered, especially when going fast on those roads. I was thinking about making a wind operated mechanical wavy hand to mount on the handle bars. then I could wave to everybody.

I don't know about jeep drivers, but most motorcycle riders do. 20 - 30 years ago the Harley wouldn't wave to the ones on Metric bikes, but that has got a lot better as time went by. I know that certain clubs won't wave to you unless your a member of that club, but over all 95% plus will wave back regardless what you ride. It means nothing more then just a wave and basically saying that you two share the same road, like the wind in your face and the freedom that motorcycling gives a person.

yeah that kinda brings back memories when i used to drive around with my wrangler in the 80s and 90s, there was a sense of belonging, of inner satisfaction in owning and driving a jeep wrangler that only jeep owners share. .. it was fun driving my jeep, especially with the bikini top and nothing else.

In the UK they nod their heads and on the European continent they stick out a leg. Of cause not all bike riders do this most Yamaha R1 or Suzuki GSXR riders are so far up there own arses thinking they are the best thing on the road that they feel they do not need to acknowledge anyone else. BUt thats okay caus ethey usually kill themselves within a few years.

Yes we always wave. Except for some people that ride Harley's some of them will only wave to others that ride Harley's. It's a buddy system that we have.

I know that Corvette drivers do. Yes, we are a secret society or ultra-rich pigs, and that is how we identify each other. It is all in the wave.
