Consider your history; have you been in the water, airplane, or any thing that could produce a pressure change? If so you may need to clear your ears.
There is a nerve that passes near the jaw pivot point. Your jaw may be putting pressure on it: try massaging that area and see if the pain returns.
You may have an ear or sinus infection that is blocking the small passages between your nose, sinus, and meddle ear.
If this has been going on for some time, consider that an untreated ear infection can cause hearing loss.
You may have broken your eardrum. Is it draining?
To be on the safe side, you should see your doctor.

Hm i'm not really sure. i know this happens to me whenever i just traveled by plane. it's like that on the plane, and when i get off...the pain i go through usually lasts for a few hours, then goes away. have u traveled in an airplane recently? if not, then i'm not sure what this is. usually i still have pains in my ear, but i have special ear drops for that. ear drops don't always help me though. maybe u should ask your doctor for some ear drops and try that.
good luck. i hate ear pain..

Sounds like an ear infection/swimmer's ear. You can try a 1/1 mixture of rubbing alcohol and vinegar in the ear until you can get to a doctor.

Ear infection. Make an appt tomorrow or go for "sick call" (whatever you call it where you are). It will get worse if you don't get it treated. In the meantime, take advil/tylenol, sudafed and some antihistamine (benadryl) to help the pain and to dry out the fluid in your ear.
