Unfortunately yes. a man, and I use the term loosely, about 40 I suppose though it's hard to tell, he's a total alcoholic and uses drugs as well, hard drugs. It's actually his parents house, although his mum died some 2 years ago and his dad is in hospital after several heart attacks, he is actually an adopted son, he shouts and swears and bangs around so much I think he might well have been responsible for the fathers heart problems, on several occasions there have been an ambulance pull up after I have heard him go absolutely crazy, the hospital don't want to release the father to come back home as the boy/man is still living in the house, which to be honest is the best option for the poor man, the boy/man claimed he was apparently looking after his dad, he can't look after himself. The strange thing is the local police don't seem to be interested, although he is known to them, and at his previous town of residence he had been arrested for assault, and he is banned for drunk driving. The truth is that when his dad passes away he is going to inherit the house, no mortgage on it and worth maybe 150k.. It's pretty terrible the attitude, I think he might be a tad schizophrenic as well, never had a job, tried the army apparently and was kicked out after 2 weeks!! Just my luck to have him next door. One day he might leave I hope!! The only good thing of this sad episode is that he doesn't live next to you!!

We have had 3 different nightmare neighbour's move in over the last few years, but they didn't stay very long. Don't mind loud music noisy children things like that, but these were total scum, they would go out their way to cause hell, but the better neighbour's stuck together and got them moved off pretty quick.

Well, nothing like that, thankfully! However, since I live in a townhouse complex, there are certainly some problems. One neighbour a few doors down is really rude. Sometimes he has friends/relatives over who all sit out on the patio with him, where they proceed to talk and laugh very loudly, and they often do it until midnight or later! And sometimes even on a worknight! At times they also play loud music. They also work on cars in their garage and sometimes leave the cars in the community driveway (totally against the homeowners' association rules) or park them along the blue curb reserved for handicapped folks. I know something fishy is going on, because the handicapped placard keeps getting switched between different vehicles.

Basically, their outlook is "hooray for me and screw you." I can't believe people can feel that way, though. What happened to treating others how you'd like to be treated? :(

YES She is single mum drives a brand new merc different men back and forth and out of the blue she has commenced a boundary dispute had a letter from her solicitor asking me to move my roof!!!!
She accused my son of trying to steal her car (he was in work at the time) and her twin writes letters about how horrible we are and posts them through other neighbours doors. Fortunately we get on with our other neighbours and they all laugh it off.
Our solicitor is amazed he says it,s better than a soap opera and he can't wait for the next instalment.

Next door but one to my other half. Young single mum, 4 kids under 6 who play out on the street a lot and are now encouraging others from the street to do the same. Men come and go. Wonder how she makes ends meet(!)

I have 8 single mexican men and 4 women. All the men own cars that fill up the street. All the guys except for one is illegal. I talk to them and they are ok.. but the broken beer bottles, the staynding in the driveway all night, the loud music every weekend where I have to call the cops at 4am... just kills me. It sucks but what can I do? I have to get along with them.

I've had several, and it was horrible. They were foul-mouthed(even the little ones),noisy, cruel to animals, drunks or druggies, and just plain nasty.Everyone in the neighborhood was so glad when they moved. Now ,thankfully, everyone gets along pretty well. They all take care of their kids and animals-and there are a lot of both-it's noisy at times, but it's happy noise, little boys playing with their puppy, riding their bikes and just having fun,and the little girl next to us is just two and adorable. So,our neighborhood is fairly pleasant these days, thank God.

I have a nightmare community, does that count ?

I've lived here 2 years and we have a group who continually say they "represent the area" and go off and say/do things supposedly in my name.

Small villages are not always idylic

I'd like to leave soon, anyone want to buy ?

I have a irritating neighbour, can't do a job on your house without him coming out to see what you're doing, and giving you advise. Just wish he'd pith off indoors.
