I am a Master Mason of an esoteric Order, American Co-Masonry. We too are expressly forbidden to discuss religion or politics inside the Lodge or in the informal gatherings of our Brethren.
What a horrible way to spread discontent and dissention among Brethren: starting political debate within a group which is devoted to the perfection of morals and virtue! No Right Worshipful Master would allow it.
We vote our conscience inside the Lodge for our officers and certainly outside the Lodge. Any irregularity in such would be immediately reported to our Most Sovereign Grand Commander.
It may be fun to pretend to believe that a bunch of satanic lizards are running the world government but if you are serious about it, you need to seek help.

My whole (male side) family line are free masons..i myself will be soon..there is no goat head..(you cant go to a meeting if you arent a member your frind was lying (to random other answer)) the freemasons are a fraternity of gentlemen who believe in a common goal..furthering society, advancing as a human race, community, friendship, and helping others. Seriously. Also America was founded by free masons who actually wrote the constitution and bill of rights (14 of the 16 signed were masons including Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson...etc..) George Washington was a mason. There are no secret "world dominating" plans or anything else like it. People are only making things like this up due to the fact that their meetings are secret and even though anyone can join...people dont believe it and therefore think they are being kept out of the loop on some scary things. Also, freemasonry is the largest fraternity in the world and there are hundreds of thousands of members so its not uncommon that one or two or 5 may be in stately possitions. Who you should worry about is the Skulldiggers (G.W. Bush is a member) and religious fanatics such as christian who DO actually influence the world based not only on their size of populus but also on how much money they contribute to make the world in their eyes "fit". Do you think the Masons are hiding the fact extraterrestrial being live on the planet? Think again...

I am a Master Mason and the idea that Freemasons influence government is silly. The discussion of religion and politics in a Lodge is expressly forbidden and always has been.

Absolutely!! It would take pages for me to even begin to touch on this subject but at the signing of the Declaration there were as many as 50 suspected Masons that signed; however, only 9 can be without a doubt historically proven, those include Jefferson, Paine, Revere, Washington, Franklin Hancock and others. I am in the middle of reading an absolutely enlightening factual book titled: "Founding Fathers Secret Societies" by Robert Hieronimus, PH.D. It examines the founding of this country through the League of Iroquois, which is a little know fact that we adopted quite a bit of our democracy from the native Americans. It also focuses on and answers all your possible questions and curiosities about the Freemasons, Illuminati, Rosicrucian's, and the Decoding of the Great Seal. Trust me this book is for you it is the most informative and interesting book put forth on the "TRUE" manner of how our country was founded. It retails for $16.95 and every bookstore usually has it in stock. Hope this helps ....Brian. If you want some more information hit me up tomorrow at aquatics123@hotmail.com and we can get into more depth......Best Regards!

I am a Mason of 40 years and the degree is immaterial. Masonry is nothing more than a brotherhood designed to inspire individual men to better live their lives and be both a merit to and an asset for their communties.
There is NO international organization of Mason in a formal sense. And, here in the United States, there is no national one as well. For example, the Grand Lodge of Scotland chartered the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, which in turn, chartered the Grand Lodge of Mississippi. The Grand Lodge of Scotland has NO control of ANY type over any of the Grand Lodges it first chartered or those the Scotland-chartered one chartered in turn.
Operationally, the Grand Lodge of Mississippi has no more power and no less power than the Grand Lodge of Scotland. Each operates within its political base and not one inch outside. Neither has any control over the other and neither belong to a common (international) organization--simply because there isn't one.
(OH WHAT ABOUT P3 in Rome? P3 Lodge was a regular Masonic lodge just as there is a Mason lodge in, say, Columbus Georgia. It was taken over by some thugs and its local charter was revoked by the Grand Lodge of Italy. P3 continued calling itself Masonic but it wasn't. It was excommunicated by ALL other lodges--Grand or otherwise as the word about it spread. Excommunication simply means that no other masonic organization answered its mail or phone calls. The news media never understood this however.)
Mason has NO control over anything other than its property, which is usualy the lodge hall building.
In fact, it is expressly forbidden to discuss politics or business in a Masonic Lodge, even in the "outer court" outside the main meeting room.
Give up those rantings of backwoods Baptists preachers who are trying to sell video tapes for profit, or the book writers who next will write about the Face on Mars and how space aliens populated the Earth.
And the conspiracy nuts as well.
It is all pure undiluted unadulterated bullsh!t.
(AND Brian following this is typical of the conspriacy nuts. The fact that so many Founding Fathers were Mason is simply because it was THE thing to do then and much less so today. The fact that Washington was a Mason is no more material to the history or anything else of the United States than the fack that he was also a member of the Church of England--as were nearly all the other Father, except for the Scots who were all Presbyterians. Can you see conspiracy from their CHURCH memberships? No, and you are foolish to look for it elsewhere as in Masonry as well. Settle down Brian, you are making a fool of yourself.)

Apparently the rumor goes freemasons arn't suppose to talk about freemason stuff to non freemasons cause it is like a secret society.. maybe that is just hokey.
From the countless sources of online documentation there seems to be quite a few freemasons, and they have been active in establishing a lot of culture.
To tell you the truth they don't leave an impression on my mind very much as to weigh them with much importance in the daily activities of my life.
However, it is obvious that the masons as a global organization have deeply effected the world around me and are likely to continue doing so as a political and cultural organization.

The Freemasons are one of the oldest religeous affiliations in the world.
They have been here forever, and they are EVIL.
During ceremonies,a goat's head comes out on a pedestal in a room draped in purple and people begin flopping on the floor.
My friend went to one meeting and ran out, terrified.
They start as nice businessmen meetings, and before you know it, you are sucked into the oldest religeon in the world.
Jack The Ripper was practing Freemason ceremonies. The ceremony where he cut the entrails out of the whore and then draped them over her shoulder...etc. It's all in their books and has DIRECTIONS how to do the ceremonies he used during his spree of killings.
I can't say anything good about them. They are an occult.
A lot of senators, presidents, congressmen are Freemasons. Do they influence the government? Sadly, yes.
Good luck.

Not as much as people think they do....
Some allow that the Masons go as high as 33rd degree.... I think the degrees go high as 37th degree... rare... 33rd degree is rare also, but is there to be seen if one looks..... but some take a harder and deeper look and see beyond.... they are illuminated...
The goat's head story is an old one.... how do you become a Mason? just ask a Mason... and see for yourself.... Shriners are Masons, ever hear of Shriners' Hospitals for children...
I have no dealings with state and national Politicians who happen to be Masons... but from what I have observed, local Masons do what they can to help people... and their communities....
BTW, Harry Truman was a 33rd degree... several other presidents were also high ranking....
If there were as many as 50 Masons at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.... I wish I could thank them.... and if they had anything to do with the Constitution.... we are forever indebted to them....

I don't care anything about the masons & their secret little books. It reminds me so much of the little decoders we had as kids from Captain Marvel.

If you have to ask the question in the first place then the answer ultimately about whether or not they influence society is yes. You know about them from your culture and hence they have had some effect. Beyond that I can't say.
