This is an urban myth...
Umm correction: Citgo IS owned by the national petroleum company of Venezuela, btu there are multiple problems with trying to boycott them.
This is a long explanation, but a pretty thorough one. Skip to the end if you want to get to the summary in a hurry:

I don't know. I stopped at Citgo the other day and was amazed at how many people were fueling up. Is this a silent protest against Bush?
Assassinated? Wouldn't that make Chavez right in his assessment of this administration?

Yes, the Venezuelan tankers are too large to pass through the Panama canal and only US refineries are set up to process Venezuelan heavy crude, so Chavez is totally dependent on the US market.

If we had a Citgo in town, I'd boycott them. But then I'm still boycotting grapes, thanks to Cesar Chavez.

These boycotts never work. Most of the big oil companies routinely sell and buy oil back and forth with each other.

I don't buy gas there but if i were to boycott something it would be for a better reason than to help overthrow a nutjob.

Did you ever ask your self what made him say that? For some reason they seem to think of that the U. S. grow to be at the back of a coup that bumped off him from means quickly in 2002 (elected chief). he's have been given loopy freaking televangelists calling for his assassination. Our federal government, which has no qualms approximately destroying the form as a fashion to amplify their means has the grape culmination to ***** some perceived (in all risk appropriate, too) Chavez's means grab. heavily, i ask your self why he ought to declare any such undertaking :p and what's your decision? purchase gas from some enterprise that has 11 billion earnings in 1 / 4 whilst everyone seems to be paying over $3 consistent with gallon of gas then supplies hundreds of tens of millions out in retirement bonuses? possibly we would desire to constantly purchase gas from BP. I in no way cared plenty for the ambience (leaking pipelines in alaska all people) or those human beings working of their derilict refineries. possibly we would desire to constantly purchase our gas from companies that are procuring their oil from international places whose voters are blowing up US troops and Iraqi voters on a daily basis? possibly we would desire to constantly purchase our gas from companies who purchase it from Russia, via fact Russia is any such shining occasion of awesomeness. extraordinarily plenty constrained to companion and infants oil and oil from Canada. Which gas stations would desire to we time-honored? you will desire to a minimum of recommend a answer to boot on your complaint.
