Can someone please tell me what happened to Christopher Booth on soap Passions?

I have missed Passions for awhile but I know they replaced Christopher Booth. temporarily and does anyoen know as to why they replaced him? then i tuned in today and he was back? If anyoen knows why he was replaced FOR sure please let me know best answer wins 10 points!

Apparently, he was sick and had to be temporarily replaced.

Ummm.... dunno.... what charachter does he play because he's not even listed on the bios for Passions' website.
