Yes he was.
If he did not announce that he did not want to run for another term all the vultures in his own cabinet would not have begun their attacks on his position.

Now everyone in the labour party is trying to get into the number 1 seat.

Tony should have handed over power to a candidate of his choice just before the next election. And not told the party until absolutely necessary.

Yes, it was a mistake from the start.

Once people know your leaving, wether it be PM or a normal job, they loose interest in you.

How can you convince people you have thier long term interests at heart when you want be around to answer for any mistakes.

Most of us have worked with the person who says they are leaving work and then start bragging about it, its disruptive and they are not taken too seriously in thier final days.

Stupid thing to do

I trust you, Charles Clark regarded like an upload for Toby Jugs, yet John Reid is the merely Labour baby-kisser i like at present. I per chance going insane, yet he looks to communicate with some sincerity, and as he positioned it even as he were given the job, " i imagine i have been exceeded the poison challis ". Gorden Brown keeps attempting to screw him up because he knows he's the merely contender for the subsequent PM, so he's in a frustrating position on the mo. i'd provide him better time in the previous passing judgement on his skills.
