Race engine rebuild. original cam new lifters. All but two liters cupped.

I was always taught you have to put a new cam in if you install new lifters. An old cam will be worn unevenly, so it will eat new lifters as the mating surfaces aren't perfectly parallel.

could be a worn cam. Did you replace the cam and lifters or just lifters? Always use new lifters on new cam. run in at 2000 rpm for 20 minutes.

can't really explain it but i've seenit happen before. it has to do with run in time. when you replace a cam you always replace the lifters

check to make sure oil is getting to camshaft,excesive valve spring tension,lifters not hardened.
