I want to get it removed, but I am only 16 and I am not sure if we can afford... or it will make the condition worse. It is a dark brown color and my skin is a tan color. It really bothers me, even though I pretend that it doesn't. It is on the left side of my cheek and pretty much takes over my entire cheek. Some people have the nerve to come up to me (and not even know me) and ask me if I got burned or something. Someone told me today that it looks like a big bruise. Life is so unfair :(, I envy people who have perfect symmetric faces.

If u can not cover with cosmetics, then go to a dermotologist.
It will probably cost less than u think---Some things are cheap like 30 to 40 bucks-I had one mole on my back removed for that.
Yours may be more, but u will not know till u go
People can be so ugly, ever notice how many "bronze women" on tv have a spot......even Marilyn painted one!
Look at it again in a different mood and if it is decent---think-this is decent-this is cute......I like it. If u really can not stand it see a dermotologist....
It is sad people r cruel....even if they themselves are fat, ugly or just plain stupid~! Everyone, anyone can be beautiful except druggies....... I believe to my soul!!! Goood luck

There are a couple things you can do...but first, there is no excuse for peoples stupidity or cruelty. I am sorry people aren't more intelligent to know that there are people that have all types of marks and blemishes that really don't need to be commented on.
I would really consult with a Dermatologist to let you know what professional options you have. Then I'd take it from there. Until that time there are concealers for birthmarks (ie: port-wine marks etc) that will work well.
There are many people out there that have the same thing you have so you're not alone. Hang in there and good luck.

This is what you do; Ask you parents if they can put a bit of money into the bank each month to build up a fund for the cosmetic surgery to take it off. I'm sure that they will be happy to do this for you. Sometimes the extended family, grandmothers grandfathers aunts and uncles get involved in the help. My father in law is helping with my daughters dental work that needs to be done and this is a big problem that my daughter has too.

In the meantime get some makeup and use that while you wait for the funds to compound.

Take Care and trust me, you will have your day with a clear complexion. ;-)

what variety of makeup are you employing? i imagine there are some extra intense priced sorts that are designed for birthmarks. possibly you should make sure through calling a dept shop or dermatologist. There should be a makeup that works or how would all those celebrities hide up all their tattoos of their action pictures, till they edit them out.

I'm sorry that sounds tough. Perhaps you should wait a bit, and be very careful to research your surgeon. You really wouldn't want any mistakes to happen. If it makes you feel any better, I envy people with symmetric faces too.
