Molestation is a growing epidemic. How can this be? Why does it have to happen? I would do the rest of my life in prison for any one of my children. It would not be ignored, nor unnoticed. Ther would be no trial for the molester, only a death sentence. I would make him eat his own balls. It makes me sooo sad to hear of the abuse done to other children, and the fact that the parents doest do anything but deny it, disgusts me beyond belief. The courts are partial to it, also, which gives a bad name to American justice. A court will give less time to a pedophile, then someone stealing to feed his family. It's stupid... This has me infuriated beyond words....

It infuriates and disgusts me as well. :( I don't know if molestation is growing into an epidemic, or if it's just being identified and/or reported more often now than it used to. After all, that's the type of thing that used to be "swept under the rug" a lot, unfortunately.
It's clear that any man (or woman, for that matter) who molests a child has something wrong mentally. Perhaps it's a true mental illness, or perhaps an emotional disorder. Whatever it is, I think maybe we're seeing more people with these illnesses/disorders because there has been a growing trend of more women using drugs or alcohol while pregnant. (My mom saw this even in the mid-1990s, when she worked in Special Education. Each year, the kids were worse and worse).
No one knows EXACTLY how a person's brain will be affected, long-term, from pre-natal exposure to drugs, especially because there are so many different drugs that can be used. I strongly think that at least some drugs can cause psychotic/sociopathic changes in one's brain, and this can, in SOME cases, lead to a person becoming a molester. I have no proof of this, obviously. It's just my hypothesis.
P.S. For what it's worth, a friend of mine was married to a man who molested their children. He did NOT get a light sentence. Quite the contrary -- he will likely die of old age before his prison sentence is up! So at least SOME molesters will never be able to hurt a child again! *cheer*

Most of the time it is a family friend who the family trusts and new for a long time who molests the child so they do not know what to do and dealing with pedophiles its hard to BC some kids get caught walking home and the kids get stolen or it is done somewhere else while they are alone Parents can not be there all the time i hate to say that but it gives a space where the kids are in danger to that and being stolen so until we can fix that then the molesters and pedophiles have a chance at our kids i agree with you though it does make me sick to my stomach that adults would do such a thing to children. Yes the courts should be harsher on them but they are sick sick minded ppl and i am no doc so i can not say they can and i cant say that they can not be cured. so but i wish they did not exist. ALL WE CAN DO as parents and patrons of America is help our American children and come together against these ppl and help each other protect our children.

I agree with you COMPLETELY! If any one of my girls were raped or molested I would be going to jail for murder in the first, I could in no way depend on the justice system to make things right. The justice system is corrupt as are the police, judges, lawyers, all of them are just in it for the blood money. Pedophiles, child molesters and rapists should be sentenced to life in prison.

there is a differcnce between men and women for the same crime and the courts run on precedent set in prior cases so if there is a loophole to be exploited by the lawyers then they will do it. The only legal solution to the problem would be for a massive response to the public representatives to reform the laws

I agree that it's not right that molestation happens. But the reason that it happens is because when a moleser is caught, they are let back out in public to reoffend. It saddens me to hear about how many children are being molested by repeat offenders, because our governments won't keep them in jail.
Another reason why it happens is because people these days don't watch their kids. I can't tell you how many kids I see everyday out on the streets with no adults around.
Think about it, would the repeat offenders have the chance to molest our children if the children were being supervised all the time? The answer is no. You know why molesters are constantly being caught in parks? Because there's a ton of kids at parks without parents with them. Or if their parent's are with them, they aren't paying any attention to their kids.
It sickens me to imagine someone molesting a child, but it wouldn't happen if people would watch their kids. It's as simple as that.
People know that molesters are out there, they have websites with addresses and pictures that you can go to. With this knowledge, why would you let your child go anywhere outside (even the backyard) without being supervised by yourself or another adult you trust?
The government is not to blame completely. Yes, I think they are too leniant with laws involving molesters, but it's not they're fault. For one, these people wouldn't be in office if the public wouldn't vote for them. For two, like I said before, parents need to learn to take blame too.

you know why the courts are partial to it?, because they are ruled by men, the primary perpetrators of sex crimes against women and children. you know why men do this crap?, because they are bombarded by more sexual images in a day than God ever intended for them to be. think about it. they will screw anything with no consideration for the "object" on the other end of their penis. Parents are not teaching their males to respect others. All men opperate geared toward sex. Not all men are filthy disgusting scum of human toilet waist, but most are. We need to get back to the old fashion ways of women being modest and men being gentlemen!
