They wanted to finish on a high note. While it's very true that it was an extremely expensive show to have, I don't think that was a huge reason. So many more shows are more costly than Friends was- just comparing sets alone tells you that. Their salaries are more than normal, but 6 mil. per week is like nothing to big networks like NBC, and big studios like Warner Bros.

Usually if I have a Greatest Hits album I have other albums too, or if not whole albums, at least some other single songs from iTunes. Sometimes a well-done Greatest Hits album is good though. I sometimes buy them, because most of the music I listen to is on Pandora Radio or Dizzler or other Internet-radio type things, so I don't own a lot of the music I like at this point. Maybe when I'm not broke I'll buy some. The main advantage I guess of Greates Hits albums is to save money and be able to listen to at least some good music, or to get a sampling to get an idea of whether or not you like a band. Don't know for sure, but it was probably way to expensive to continue the show. I'm sure the salary for each cast member was in the millions and the crews pay would also have gone up with each new season. It comes to a point where it's just too much money to keep a show going, especially one that is so popular.

The show was on for 10 seasons and the entire cast made the decision to end the show. It was not at all due to Jennifer Aniston branching out to movies and/or that Warner Brothers and NBC were not willing to pay the entire cast more money.

Besides, all good shows must come to an end. And 10 seasons is a very long time.

It lasted for what - 10 years or so? That's a long time for a series. Generally what's already been said- their salaries were getting to be too high to afford to continue - along with the fact that Jennifer wanted to focus primarily on her movie career, and the rest I'm sure were wanting to try other projects as well.

Jennifer Aniston wanted to leave mid-way throught the seventh series to have children with her husband at the time, Brad Pitt. Lisa Kudrow persuaded her to stay after saying that she had no problem looking after her son whilst still starring in the show. However, when it reached the tenth series, all the cast agreed it wa time to 'stop whilst they were ahead'. They wanted their programme to end being loved, not phase out and have people saying 'God, they should have stopped ages ago!' We all miss Friends! The spin-off Joey was crap, and it did ruin people's love of Friends a bit. The sad bit is, that after Brad Pitt saying he didnt want children, he went off with Angelina Jolie telling the press that Jennifer didn't want children! I say that it not on at all! What a git haha! I did hear rumours about the cast getting together to make a film to finally end Friends, but I don;t know whether this is true or not. Hope this helped! Charlene xx

If you were making $1million per episode each and did it for several years, you could walk away and not have a care in the world. That's what they did. They work now just to keep their egos happy. Unless they were really dumb and invested all their money in a spinach farm or Coke Blac. Then they would have to work again.

I seriously think it sux. It ended just as we saw Rachel and Ross FINALLY get their **** together. Monica and Chandler moved out of town and had the twins, Joey never met anyone and had a relationship, Dunno what happened to Pheobe and Mike... Just so much could have happened still. I just finished watching the 10th season and bawled my eyes out. I will always love Friends and wish they would bring it back!!
