I've wondered that too! I think she just doesn't know how to express herself, who knows... it's a movie haha... a damn good movie. It's one of my favorites :-)
(Okay i'm responding to your answer on my question-) She could of been smoking a cigarette because she is depressed, and she's lost for words. Everybody reacts and handles deaths differently. lol.

I think she was sad in her own way. She looked like she was in a kind of traumatic shock type of emotional state.
