Do you have a passion for either profession. If you have the passion you will be an outstanding professional in the field. If you are only in it for the money whatever you end up doing will be nothing but a dreary job. I have run across engineers with passion as well as nurses with passion.
I wish you well. Both are very good and very necessary professions.

First of all don't be at all concerned with the money. Plz don't, don't get attracted to a job just because of the money. You can make great money and still not be happy. Nursing, you pretty much have to have a heart for it. You're dealing with blood, IVs, injections, medications, etc. You can't go into this just saying the money is good...well not everywhere, it depends on where you are.Just like engineering. Nursing school is very competitve, very tedious, very stressful, it's worth the fuss. I don't know much about engineering, but I know it can also be tedious. So I have no idea, both majors are totally different. Do what you will be most happy in. Don't base your major on what your family or friends think, money, amount of pre-requisites,..do what you feel is right in your heart.
Just because you're going to college next week doesn't mean you have to decide next week. You really need to sit down and list some pros and cons, pray about it. Really meditate, don't rush. First, just take your core classes like english, math, for. language, while doing this, keep thinking about your major, you don't have to decide right away. Remember that. Don't rush anything.

I think it really depends on what field you like more. If you are better at the sciences you might like nursing more. If you're better at math, try engineering. But your decision shouldn't be based on the money aspects. They both get pretty good incomes but, for example, being a nurse is about helping people, not just about the money. Go to http://www.acinet.org/ and go to Occupation Information. This is a very good site to help you choose your career, it includes average incomes in different states and even video's about the different jobs. Good luck with college!

Don't be a nurse for the money, you can make good money but it's proportional to how hard you work. No one ever gets rich being a nurse.

Do what you want to do, not what makes you the most money. You have to like what you do or you won't be happy no matter how much you make.

Plenty of people come to hate engineering, but no one ever regrets becoming a nurse.

Good luck!
