Hmmm....

Have you heard the term burnout? Maybe, subconsciously, you are bored. Your work has become monotonous. I suggest some serious fun and change of scenery. This doesnt always have to be dramatic. Maybe a short(4-6 days) vacation and regular involvement in some extracurricular activities(i hear bedroom aerobics are really in) can help the boredom.

If it were possible and feasible a complete and total career change. This would take a lot of guts and planning. Certainly not a job for the weak-stomached.

If neither of the previous scenarios does it for you. You may need to just organize and prioritize a little differently.

It's not that I have a difficult time finishing the work I bring home, but starting it is another story!! I've looked at and/or carried work around for days, only to find that it takes very little time to finish! I don't know why I do this!

Yes, it used to happen to me until I realized that I didn't enjoy the work anymore (after 9 years). I found a new job where I complete my projects on time.
It sounds like it could be burnout too.
Take a vacation. Reassess your goals.
Good luck.

We can't blame multi-tasking nowadays... but you can always find that job you always wanted, where you may find your niche...
