Yes, and for more reasons than waking up your metabolism! If you eat just, say, two large or moderate meals a day, your body will store up between those meals, thinking that there is some sort of shortage of food.
However, if you eat several smaller meals in a day, your body will think there is an abundance of food and will not store so much.
Still, eating right and excersizing(sp?) always helps, and don't eat too close to bed-time, or else you won't have time to burn off the last meal.

Agree with all the above answers: See Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit by Adelle Davis for a good discussion of the actual studies done at the University of Iowa on breakfasts and their effect on the body and its metabolism.

So many people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day... and you can't ignore them. By having something to eat at breakfast time helps to kick-start your metabolism so your body does not store fat. If you do not have breakfast then your body does not knowwhen it is next going to have food, so stores fat for fuel.

Yes, it has the potential to do so based on the fact that it "jump starts" our metabolism, although your breakfast choices would also determine that. A breakfast of donuts every day won't do a thing for your figure except make it expand!! ;-)

it's not that it makes you lose the weight, its that you start burning fat, because your metabolism "wakes up" so to speak. Once you start eating in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism, and it starts burning fat.
