Yes she can. All she needs to do is go to her Human Resource manager with the proper paper work from her doctor and she will get it because my wife did the same thing. She must have the paperwork from the doctor first. If she brings it up to her doctor they will fill out the necessary forms and then H.R will do the rest.

I'm not completely sure but i know she can get medicaid and foodstamps. I had a friend who did for her baby and herself. Also there is also a such thing as temporary disability in some peoples insurance for maternity leave that they don't know about my friend also got that. I had the temporary maternity leave disabiliy in my insurance at one job and didn't know it but i also wasn't pregnant so i didn't care. But it never hurts to try and see the government is full of suprises once you do the research

I am not sure what state u live in. I know that had to start disabilty early because of an incompetent cervix. My maternity pay which still falls under disabilty will kick in once the baby is born. It will be the same rate and time period as the checks i am receiving now. I live in ny, so u can only get disabilty for 26 weeks. This is considered short term disabilty. What i suggest she do is contact her human resource dept. They will give the information to the company that they deal with. Once she calls them they will send her information. Tell her to fax back everything they need if she can because if she mails back the forms it will take forever for them to get it and forever for her to receieve her first check. Good luck

I would click on the link below and then contact your employer and find out. Every company is different... If you company car is a benefit, you are entitled to keep it throughout your maternity period as your benefits are not supposed to stop just because you are pregnant, according to the Equal Opportunities Act.

Yes. That's what maternity leave is. Just get the disability forms from her employer or union and fill them out and give them to the doctor to fill out his part and the doctor sends them in. It's really simple.

depends on your state i believe but in california you can. 6 weeks prior to due date is when you can apply and then you can get it for 6 weeks after the birth, 8 if you have a c-section and after that you can get 6 weeks family leave pay.
i left my job a month before i was due and my boy was almost 2 weeks late, i got dissability from when i left until he was 4 months old (including family leave)
the family leave can be taken by the father aswell, you may want to take 6 weeks too and bond with your baby if you can afford it. they only pay a percentage of your regular pay. congrats, and good luck

If the Doc says she cannot work and she is currently employed, then YES of course!!
Benefits should also be in effect afterwards for 6 weeks w/ regular(vaginal) delivery and 8 weeks for a c-section.
Congrats and good luck!!

I think it depends on where you live, statewise. My friend lives in California and was able to draw temporary disability while on maternity leave.

Yes, and depending on the state she can get 2 extra weeks if she's had a C-sections. All of the rules vary by state.

If she was working prior to her leave and paying taxes into a state disability system (such as California's SDI tax) then, yes she can take benefits.
