It doesn't itch very bad, just a bit sore still. but there is still a smell of "yeast" and I don't know when or how to make it go away?

Call your doctor, you may need more medication or a different option.

Read your package insert. Diflucan stays in blood stream several days. May take up to 5 or 6 stays to start relieving the systems. I would get some monistat cream to control the itching, plus add to the killing of the fungus yeast. Sometimes it takes two rounds of Diflucan to return the normal floral of the vagina. I have taken Diflucan and had to use monistat to rid the yeast. Hope you have better luck.

I really don't think diflucan works. I know, it's really convenient. I keep trying it too. I usually wind up taking several doses and ultimately using a nasty cream.

Incidentally, if you ask your doctor to write your prescription from now on for two or even three pills, most insurances will pay for it. Same cost as it would be for one pill.
