any small cheap newspapers in the area.
the bulliten board at the supermarket or the water company.
make flyers and pay a college kid to put one at each mailbox.
print business cards and when you go to a customer, leave two or three of them and tell them you have a referral bonus of something like one free cleaning for each new client they refer.
print coupons up and give them to the local daycare centers, photo portrait shops, and anywhere else you can think of.
make little signs and stick them on the side of the road.
Use your imagination and have fun with it.
Good luck

Find all the free and cheap local papers. They usually can run ads for $5 or other some low fee. Make a sign for your car so when you are out cleaning people can see the sign and know that you are cleaning and see your business. Leave business cards with your other clients and offer a free cleaning for refering new customers. Let your clients know you are looking for more in their area and ask if they know anyone or if you can use them as a reference. Then give out flyers to neighbors saying you are working in this area and offering a free trial to new customers.
When you go places mention what you do to people you meet. Good cleaning services are hard to find and people are often looking to switch.
Good luck!

word of mouth is always the best advertising, but if you leave your cards where they frequent would be best, such as the beauty shop, the country club, 'better' restaurants, 'boutiques' golf shops, any place of business that caters to the affluent. Also a friend that cleans for the wealthy would help get you referrals.Once you get your foot in the door, you should get all the work you need. It also helps to be honest and dependable.

Try the notices board at your supermarket where everyone leaves business cards. My stepmom actually would go into the cleaning products aisle of the supermarket and leave her business cards on the shelves, making it look like an accident. She got a lot of business that way! Laundromats are also a good place to leave your card

I would make up some flyers and put them in churches, shopping centers, senior citizen centers;all with permission of course. I would put them whereever you think busy people might go. Like your local spa's,etc. People that are busy are usually looking for someone to help with everyday tasks.

OK, if you are a REAL business you are going to have to bite the bullet and spend some money to make some money. The "bullet" is the yellow pages in your area. I'ts going to COST you but you will get business ...otherwise jsut keep doing what you are doing..
