I wouldnt take anything without doctors consent. It can be very annoying and waiting for the damn baby to come can make you very impatient, but i wouldnt suggest it.

Baby comes when it decides to come. I know with my first 2 children i was very impatient as far as you are, but you gotta go with the flow hun.

I would not take any. I took it the last time I was pregnant and it made me cramp. I went in to the hospital and there was nothing. I had my labor induced at 38 weeks. Now I am pregnant and I am 35 weeks I will never try castor oil again. I will walk or something else.

2 teaspoons is only 10 mL. The "recommended" dose is 30-60 mL in one cup of OJ. This stuff works for some and doesn't work for others. A bit of a warning, you may throw up like the exorcist shortly after you take it and/or empty your bowels to no end. Other things to do that are more natural include sex(as semen has prostaglandins that help to thin and efface the cervix), a bumpy car ride, a spicy meal. I have 5 friends that tried this stuff, worked for 4 of em, but one of them "crapped" everywhere while giving birth! good luck!!

Be careful with castor oil for increasing your contractions. A friend had her delivery with a midwife present. The midwife had her take castor oil and it sounded as bad to me as when the doctor induced me. Give your body some trust that it will do what it needs to!

Do not take this. Talk to your doctor. You should not take anything without talking to your doctor and I am pretty sure castor oil is bad for pregnat people, but you have to check with the doctor. Call the doctor now. Do not take more. Call the doctor now. ASAP.

Yeah listen to the person ahead of me and tell the doctor what you did on top of that your baby can be born in poop. That is horrible and can be ifectious for your baby because poop is full of bacteria. Tell your doctor so he or she can take precautions if needed to keep that baby clean. Also just tell them so they know about interactions.

Taking castor oil to speed labor is an old wives tale. What it does is clean out your intestine and bowel, and since some of these are the same muscles used during delivery, it can accelerate the process.

Too much castor oil can cause diarreah, which can cause dehydration, which is bad for you and the baby.

Call you doctor or the local maternity ward, tell them what you've done and get medical advice as to what you should or should not do.

And best of luck to you and the baby!

Unless you want to be crapping all over the delivery table and grossing everyone out, I suggest you quit with the castor oil. Nature or the doctor will take care of delivery time.

My midwife says take 2 teaspoons with some OJ. I took it with my first child around 10PM and my water broke at 8:30am the next morning, so just give it time, if your body and the baby are ready it will work.

I would not take anymore. I don't think my friend took more than a teaspoon and after a couple of hours her water broke. Be patient. If it does not work I would wait and ask your doctor about inducing you.
