A friend of mine only gets her period if she's on the pill. The majory of women don't need any type of pill to get it though.

You need to talk to your gynecologist. He or she will generally recommend a type of birth control to cause and regulate periods.

Generally, in women's health, there is no one-size-fits-all pill; and, for this, there is NO over the counter remedy.
