Prozac and Paxil was made originally for short term use(6 months max) I have been taking Lexapro for over a year, it is great! I want to get up, I want to do things, and I enjoy life more. You don't feel high, sleepy, or disorganized. It, of course is according to the reason you need it, but ask your doctor. It may be an option for you. My problem is depression in general. (not a loss or suicide thoughts)

Prozac didn't "make" me feel anything. The only medication that alleviated my severe anxiety, depression, and homicidal tendicies was Paxil.
Unfortunately, I lost my job and insurance coverage, and had to rely on a state-funded agency which only dispensed Prozac. Since moving to another state, and changing insurance carriers, I have not been evaluated for medication. I feel myself gradually escalating toward another psychotic episode.

I've took Prozac, i used to be depressed not coz i have a depressive character but the reason was my bad relation with my husband,.Prozac made me emotionally paralyzed, whatever problems happening it no more makes me feel hurt, nothing can make me feel bad , it makes me think that I'm careless and indifferent towards things that used to make me anxious

I used prozac for treatment of panic attacks. It did not make me feel any different. For my patients that have been on it or another SSRI, it helps with depressive symptoms. "Anti-depressant" is really a bad word for it, it is really moe of a "mood stabilizer".

it doesnt really make you feel high or anything like that.
it does make you calmer. which is the purpose of the pill. ive been on prozac for years and it keeps me calmer and i can handle more pressure than i could if i didnt have it.

I would take it to come out of major depression, but only if nothing else worked. Makes you feel like a total robot, but at least you aren't crying for no reason.
