Actually Kmart bought Sears. I am in management at Kmart and this is the best the company has been in years. he companies merge was final in April of 2005 and now you can use your Sears card at Kmart as well as the merchandise selection is much better. We now carry Craftsman tools, Kenmoore appliances ( some Kmart stores have a big appliance section and you can purchase washers, dryers, refridgerators ect. They are delivered to your home.) I am proud to be part of this company and challenge those of you who have a negative attitude about Kmart to go and visit one and see the difference. The comapny is now called Sears holdings company, Although we kept our names on the buildings. There are some new stores called Sears essentials and Sears Grand. We own Land's End and Osh. Thanks for all the responses.

K Mart Corporation actually bought Sears for Eleven Billion dollars in November of 2004. This purchase merged two of the oldest customer service based retailers in the United States. It was a buy-out that has actually worked as a merger, enabling both retailers to emerge from financial difficulties into a more stable environment for each part of the company.

Um, I don't have any real reasons, but it seems I still hear Sears advertisements, so I guess Sear's bought Kmart. Is Kmart gone now?
