The Texas Ranger who started as the reincarnation of the Washington Senators in 1961 is the oldest team without wining One World Series. A 45 year drought, the Astros are right behind them with a 44 year drought and counting. The S.F. Giants has yet to win one in San Fransico. Chicago hasn't won one since 1908 the longest drought in the Major league.

However the Longest wait before a World Series crown belongs to Philadelphia Phillies started in 1883 waited 97 years (or a full century if you count the three years when they were known as the Worcester Rubby Legs) before their first World Series (The mordern world series with the NL vs. AL didn't started until 1908 however from 1883 till 1908 they never finish higher than second

The baseball team that has been in the same city the longest time without winning it all has been the San Francisco Giants (yes, I know they used to be the New York Giants and they won it while in New York). I just think it's interesting that the fans in that city have waited the longest, since 1958. In fact, that's' the longest wait for a first championship in any sports city in North America. Cleveland fans have it the worst...they haven't seen a champion of any kind (baseball, football, basketball, hockey) since the 1964 Browns, another record long wait. We Seattle fans are coming up on 30 years since our last (and only) championship, the 1978-79 Sonics.

That would be the Texas Rangers, who began as the second installment of the Washington Senators in 1961 (moved to Texas in 1972). The first installment of the Washington Senators moved from DC in 1960 to become the Minnesota Twins (the original Senators won the World Series in 1924, and have won it twice since as the Twins, in 1987 and 1991).

Others who have never won it:
Houston Astros, began as the Houston Colt 45's in 1962
Milwaukee Brewers, began as the Seattle Pilots in 1969
San Diego Padres, begain in 1969
Washington Nationals, began as the Montreal Expos in 1969
Seattle Mariners, began in 1977
Colorado Rockies, began in 1993
Tampa Bay Devil Rays, begain in 1998
