If the new Titanic was built exactly like the first one, would it still sink if it struck an iceberg? Would anyone still take a voyage on that new ship?

If the movie was correct, the original Titanic sank because its watertight bulkheads extended up to only "E" deck, permitting water to flow over them and fill other compartments. If the new ship was built exactly the first one, it would still sink if its pumps could not handle the inflow of water from holes in the hull.

Again, if the new ship is an exact copy of the original, it will have enough lifeboats for less than half its passengers. I would not book passage because I do not care for the choices presented if the ship should sink.

Just about any ship will sink if struck by an iceberg. The problem with the Titanic is it didn't have enough life raft's for all the passengers. I'm sure if they built one today even the French law would require adequate life raft's, so this shouldn't be a problem. I say go for it...

well, they would not use the same name for obvious reasons, but if they built it the same, it would sink the same.

Some ceilings did not go all the way up in the Titanic, causing more compartments to flood.

But if a ship was constructed and hit an iceberg, it would not take 5 hours for another ship to come by in this day and age.

I'm sure it would. However primitive the ship is, this is the age of satellite technology and it doesn't mean Captain Smith will be at the helm. So hell yes!

The folks back in 1912 could have done much better if they had gotten their heads out of their butts.

most ships would have survived Titanics collision with the iceburg. The real cause of her demise was the fact the she was constructed from inferior brittle steel, that shattered rather than bent in the North Atlantics Icy waters. As long as she was constructed properly.... well, still no...bad luck

I am sure they would because I bet they would add a little bit more sophisticated technology like Sonar and such, but I dont think they will make it exactly the same but A replica with newer technology for safer voyages.

It might if they used the exact same material and it was hit in the same position and was going the same speed but that's not likely to happen so I would book a voyage

I'd be more inclined to sail on the Titanic than the Hindenberg.
