Do you want to advertise on line or in the real world. On line audience reaches international target, that means more clients.
If you have an office business advertise using Geo advertise, by advertising to people who live close to your office.
Popular online places are directories and free search engines, but for that you would have to set up a website.

Depends what your advertising for? If you are a piano teacher and you want to advertise this, you might try putting a letter up at the local gymnastics center or ymca. If you are a realtor, maybe you might put little rip off name and number papers up in the laundry rooms of apartment complexes? Try to target your group by researching where you need to be to sell yourself.
