We have seperated 4 times in the last 9 years. Been married for 30yrs. Each time we seperate it takes her about a year before she calms down enough to talk to.

She needs a complete checkup by a physician. There may well be a health issue at the bottom of all this. Holding onto anger that long is not at all healthy. It is extremely taxing on the heart - hers - as on your emotions. Your task is to convince her to talk to her doctor and not use your concern as another excuse to fly off the handle and go on yet another year-long rampage.
Are we sure that she's not using that attitude thing as a smokescreen to hide something, like an extramarital affair? Surprisingly, that's usually NOT what's going on in such cases as hers - but someone on this forum is sure to suggest that it is. Go with the doctor's checkup - and be sure YOU let the doctor know what you've observed. It's important to let the doc know that this has been going on for only the last nine years, and how she behaved when upset over the previous years of your marriage.

it may be her way of doing other guys with out it being cheating because your seperated I know a couple were the wife does this regularly they have been married a long time also about 25 years.. she leaves him then comes back when she's had her fill of fun no pun intended.. lol

She probly had an affair or she thinks your having one plus when you seperate it only makes things worst not better most people thinks it will help it dont

a) It provides her w/ space.
b) It gives her ultimate control to keep you in line.
c) You need marriage counseling to help her unravel where all the anger is coming from. This would be a tremendous gift of love on your part.

Well, she must not have trained you earlier on. Men are like dogs and need training. Its as simple as that. If the wife is not happy, nobody is happy, and thats a simple fact of life.
