How formal is the wedding? I would talk to the bride about this. Some (albeit few) weddings actually want formal, black-tie attire for everyone.

However, in general, I would recommend a "flirted up" version of what you would wear to a job interview. For instance, black pants/skirt, a cute (see: dressy cute) tank, and a button sweater that you can take off during the reception. Remember, weddings are supposed to be places to have fun, mingle, and meet people--so, make sure you feel comfortable and confident in whatever you wear.

you can wear a dress or slacks and a blouse. try to stay away from all black, you'll look like you're going to a funeral. white and black in almost any combination is very classy and elegant for a fall wedding.

Nothing black or white, just a pretty dress with a cardigan sweater would be good.

Depends if it is formal or semi formal. Just do not look prettier than the bride:)

I would say wear something that would boost your confidence. That obviously means, that should make you feel more beautiful.
