I went shopping at one store recently in the evening dress dept. I kid you not, I saw at least 45 dresses that were worn for a night on the town and returned BACK used! The tickets were soiled and ripped, or remade, the underarms gross, or thread coming out certain places.

I know the city I live in has a particular ethnic community that wears their dresses for weddings and events and returns them back, but how could the store resell these used garments?

Have you worn a dress yourself a couple of times and returned it back? Does this cost the store?

Yes, the community is ARMENIAN.
I have gone to other stores many of them, and have not seen many returns like the one in this city and that is the 90 percent majority that live in this city.

No, I've never done that. You should mention to the store that you'd love to buy something from them if only it hadn't been worn before. If you had wanted something used you would have gone to a second-hand store. It doesn't matter what the "ethnic" community is ... I've seen girls of all cultures do this and it's downright wrong! Make sure the store knows that you'll be shopping elsewhere in the future.

I used to work at Windsor 7 years ago, They had a final sale on eveing wear. Which all stores should have. I have witnessed other articles return that were worn, with the managers descretion. However the company took the lost for sending it to the cleaners. Some stores remove lipstick marks or compact from clothing by using rubbing alcohol. always look at the collar, don't be fooled. If your ok w/ that ask for a discount. anything is negotible.

No I have never done that. I do not appreciate that you make it sound like this is racially motivated. I heard jessica simpsons family did this with regular clothes do you think they are minorities? The daughter of a preacher that is really cute. Some places are really careful about that. They do not take back dresses that have been worn. They know it. I do know someone who got her dress dry cleaned and it came back with a stain. She said her dress went out while it was at the cleaners. That was pretty bad I thought.

Yeah white people do this was that the ethnic comunnity you were talking about? Rich tacky white people?. Those are the only ones I have heard of doing this yucky thing.

Yes, it is stealing, but if that's the details you gave and you noticed it happening in this city only and not the other stores, well then it is managements fault and someone should call their attention to what is going on. Yuck, I couldn't wear a deodorized used dress.

That is the same as stealing. Some stores here have a policy of no returns on evening wear. I don't blame them.

If a store lets this happen they are either stupid or figure it is a good ploy to get business in other departments. If I went into a store, however and saw what you describe, it would be the last time!

No. It is stealing. Yes it costs the store, both in employee time and in losses when they have to resell the product as used.
