A circle is a round straight line with a hole in the middle.
So anything that is not round is not a circle.
Therefore, a circle is always round.

Because the DEFINITION of a circle is "the total of all points lying in a single plane, and equidistant from a single point called the center." If you can draw a shape which fulfills that definition, and is not "round", you'll be world famous overnight.
