I love the band U2...but if they personally bother you so much than i suggest for you not to listen to them...or just go ahead and carve your eyes out...hahaha

My guess is because they went from geniuses to mediocre (you can't compare something awesome like Where The Streets Have No Name to something boring like Vertigo) and Bono is a little self-righteous.
Maybe.
Just had a thought though, without your eyes you'll still be able to hear them....
