I have a carpet python and im just wondering if a snake hook is neccessary?

No, just wash your hands before you put them in the snake's cage (to remove any scents that could smell like food) and make sure you handle him frequently to keep him docile, and you won't have any problems. I used a hook while I was training by baby boa, because she lashed out whenever my hand entered the cage, but now that she's older the hook has been retired.

Hi. I have 6 snakes and I have never used or even owned a snake hook. It really is only necessary with venomous snakes. I think its better to handle them anyway. it tends to keep them calmer in the long run. Good Luck.

Snake hooks are only neccessary if a snake is poisoness or if they bite frequently. You will have to be the judge if you need one or not.

No...they're not venemous...they may bite you, but nothing to worry about, except you'll bleed a bit. Just be gentle and they shouldn't lash out.
Snake hooks are usually used with venemous snakes that are hard to work with.

I alwies use my snake hooks for my Phytons and Constrictors to pull them out of their tanks

no snakes hook are not necessary there are only recommend for aggressive and poisones snakes.

no dont even bother with it... i like mine and tend to use it with my macklots around feeding time but with carpets you shouldent ever realy need one...
