India is much powerful than america but its foolish.....we do not realize our strength and keep demeaning ourselves....our self respect is very low...thats the reason....we think america to be big and powerful....even without having any values.....maybe it cos we are comparing in terms of money.....dear.....if you dig out the last penny of the savings every household has in India...you will find America a peanut....now that these ppl have realised they are making a back entry.....East India Company is back in India...in different forms....classic example was the stock exchange.....they have taken control....milked our money.....profits are mostly with them.....similarily now they are eyeing the real estate.....by giving us small business like call centers...bpo's.....they are taking the big slice.....wake up India...wake up......

America was once a small poor rural country questionable of it's own defense. however today even a small country can have the power to destroy the world or much of it with nuclear weapons or biological weapons. So powerful cannot be defined purely by military might. Define powerful and you can answer your question.

This is a very hard question to answer,because next 20 years are a turmoil,a lot of adjustments are going to take place.All will depend on what will be the American influence over the rest of the World in coming years.In short if the Indian people do not change in their attitude it will be very difficult. Indians must loose their habit of corruption,lawlessness,social character and dirty tricky politics.Police and other Govt agencies have to be overhauled.regional political bosses who are in fact gangsters have to be eliminated.You cannot build a superpower by writing soft ware for BILWA JEE.{Microsoft"s Bill Gates}

sure and america will wish want and try for that to happen because the want another superpower in this world to counter balance the powers of china but it will take a long time with a lot o unfinished duties to be completed lot of corrupted politicians to be taken of a lot but if india does wat is necessary to bring itself to the american position they will be there in maybe 20 or 50 years
