well since the scientific notation has to be a # that is less than 9 and greater than 1
u move the decimal 2 places to the left.....which makes it 5.49
thats less than 9......ok
and since u moved the decimal 2 places...its equal to 100
and 100 equals 10^2
so the answer is 5.49 * 10^2
there's no real point of writing 549 in scientific notation
but o well
thats the answer...
5.94 * 10^2

that's not quite right. to convert 549 into a scientific notation, you should break it down this way:
549 = 5.49 * 100
Thus, 549 = 5.49 * 10^2
Hope this helps.

So once you multiply a million,000,000 through 0.043, you get 40 3,000. for the reason that clinical notation is in this format _._ x 10^(y) ( _ denotes one digit) Your answer will be 4.3 x 10^4 10^4 is likewise 1x10^4 = 10,000. The exponent, 4, exhibits how guy zeroes are after the a million. then you actually divide 40 3,000 through 10,000 and get 4.3.
