I lost my job and have no way of paying my rent for this month..... I have to notify the leasing office of my status, I'm not sure what will happen or what action they will take.

Does anyone have any answers for me or have experienced this situation God forbid before????

Go to your local unemployment office, and they'll help you with money, or at least give you information to the places that can help you. I was in a situaiton with no home, job, or car, so I can sorta sympathize. I'm not sure what the leasing office will say, but if you already have an appointment with unemployment or city welfare (not to go on welfare, but they'll help you with rent and utilities for a couple months), then they're less likely to kick you out. Hope it all works out, and sorry I can't help more!

Call your local chapter of United Way. They are a clearinghouse for a network of charitable groups that may be able to help.

You have a lot of work ahead of you. Be persistent and follow up on leads that you get and create your support network. Ask UW for suggestions to help you with advice on how to approach your landlord, how to seek out help with your rent, and how to find employment.

If there's a Women's Center in your area, call them and ask for the same information as UW.

I would suggest that you find employment of any kind, as long as it's not illegal or immoral, ASAP. When you get back on your feet, you can seek a job that you really love. Good luck.

Do not notify them or promise them anything. It takes three months to get a court eviction notice. a regular three day notice is illegal. Refuse to leave. Pay when you can.
