Yes, you can. Before you start you must have these items: 1. Utility software from your hard-drive`s company or 2. Restoration disks from your computer`s company and or a Operating system disk(Windows or Linux) and all drivers and applications. Drivers for parts can be obtained at the company`s website. Download and burn to CD or DVD. 3. You must get into CMOS and set your CD-DVD drive in first boot order. 4. Put formatting software or restoration disk in drive and restart. Follow the directions of the software. There are books at the library on this subject in the computer section. I have been there and done that.

It is easy if you have windows XP. The best way of doing this for windows XP is placing your Windows xp disc into your cd/dvd drive and start the computer up. It should say " press any key to boot from CD", press any key and let it go through the motions until it says " repair / new installation". Delete the partition ( it will tell you how), Note: this will erase all files and programs on the hard drive, then create a new partition and format it using NTFS. Then you will be installing a fresh copy of XP onto your computer. If you have any trouble you can take it to a computer shop or you can contact me. Just say XP format and I will Know who you are. Good luck

Reformat hard disk is as easy as ABC. Just follow the instruction on the screen and you will be easily formatting the harddisk the way you want. But a caution must remember always check or backup whatever content in your harddisk. Format speed fast or slow depend on the size of the harddisk. After formatting you need to label the disk too. Another thing is to add partition which i suggest u search internet for details.

If you are okay with losing ALL of your data, I would fdisk it. This completely purges it clean and deletes all of the partitions on it. At that point, restart and boot with your Windows XP disk and it will set it up the rest of the way for you. Fdisk is a program on a boot diskette. There should be a utility to make it in your current operating system.
