I most certainly have; it's tender and delicious. So is buffalo tongue, which I've shared at powwow. But the true delecacy is pararie oysters - which we obtain from young male calves at branding time. MMm-mmm! Peel 'em and fry 'em - oh, are those delicious. What, you never heard of prarie oysters? See, when we round 'em up and brand 'em, we also dehorn 'em and neuter the boys - and why waste what y'remove when y'neuter 'em? So you're correct after all - there's better parts of cows (well, boy cows) to eat than even the tongue!

Yes, we ate it rather often in my family when I was a child. We would make the leftovers into cold tongue sandwiches to take to school the next day too. It was rather chewy and not the most tastiest but we were on a limited income and it was inexpensive.

I used to waitress at a deli, and the deli guy used to chase us round at remaining with a huge pungent cow tongue. It changed into so terrible. i understand if Granny made it, it changed into sturdy although. it really is how Grannys roll.

Not on purpose. But I've eaten worse.
I've eaten Rocky Mountain Oysters, and I think they were undercooked.
