Yes they are.
I think they are due to all the materialistic crap that we see all around us. On T.V, Magazines, Music, etc...
I dont blame it all on those things, I blame it mostly on the parents. If the parents wouldnt give into their every cry or whine...they wouldnt be as bad as they are now.
BUT
I have also learned that teenagers are not the only ones who are materialistic..Even little kids are getting bad...clothing, toys, and such.
As my favorite radio talk show host would call them "prostitots"

No, I do not think teenagers are any more materialistic today than I was as a teenager in 1959.
I do believe that today's teenagers, and the parents of today's teenagers, are seduced, through marketing manipulations, to accept and endorse "materialism".
A parent today who does not provide his/her child with a cell phone, 24-hour computer access, or a car if he/she is of licensible age, is an ogre. Parents have empowered their children to become what they have become.

Teenagers are emotional & Sentimental
If you say that they have turned as Materialistic nowadays means
it is a good sign of progress.
Those bad failures& Betrayals might made them more practical.
Any way My best wishes for those youth who can think practically.

Yes, it is the environment we live in, that's what makes us.
If we live in society which is wholly materialist then of course children will be of the same nature.

Who is responsible for this?. A decade before people did not have much choice apart from jewellery and basic needs. The media, internet and mobile phone has changed everything.

Yes, only cause the parent's r the ones paying for the material things!!! If they had to buy for themselves, then they would just eat junk food and not worry about material things!
