All kinds!
I worked on a feature film one time in the art department. The scene was that the car got shot up. Since the car was a "write off" the head of the art dept. was going to get the car after the movie for free. He was trying to convince the special effects guy to keep the bullet holes to a minimum. And, yes, it was a brand new car.
I know that cars that do jumps and tricks have all kinds of special under carriages and remote control devices. And some are just ... cgi.
-------
Additional note: some odd things happen in movie making. Some of the old vets told me stories of directors insisting a set piece (like a porch) be made out of expensive fancy wood so it could be transported after the film to his own home.

Often, they do. That's why it is non uncommon for it to cost $2M+ to create a TV Episode or $100M to create a Movie.
If you had a $50M budget to make a film, you probabliy wouldn't sweat spending $20K on a car and then blowing it up.
Still, movie producers are usually businesspeople. They aren't going to waste money if they don't need to. They would rather blow up a used or broken car (or even, a fake car) if they can achieve the same effect on screen. And they aren't going to be too eager to blow up a $200K exotic car -- although, it has probably been done.
