I mean I'll be sitting there in class doing my work and Mr.Penis wakes up. Or I'll be at Wal-Mart looking at video games and well Mr.Penis wakes up. My point is Mr.Penis wakes up at some of the most unexpected times and in the most unexpected places. its like Mr.Penis is playing a joke on me. I only want Mr.Penis to wake up when I want to play with him. But seriously why does Mr.Penis do this? Its not necessary for Mr.Penis to wake up and show off in public, so why can't Mr.Penis just stay asleep? Should I punish it in some way? Or should I just play with Mr.Penis in public, like Pee-Wee Hermen?

When a guy gets aroused sexually, the erectile tissue in his penis relaxes. Blood flows into it at a faster rate than it flows out (called vasocongestion). This causes the penis to get larger and harder. This is an erection, sometimes called a hard-on.

Sometimes though, erections happen at the weirdest times. For example, someone is sitting in math class, taking a test, and all of a sudden he has a hard on. Turned on by algebra? Not likely. What he has is a spontaneous erection — the erectile tissue has simply relaxed without sexual arousal. Spontaneous erections seem to just pop up for no reason at all. And that can feel pretty embarrassing.

It will go away pretty quickly if you ignore it. You can sing a song in your head, or try to say the alphabet backward to get your mind off of it. Or try to think about anything that isn't at all arousing. This happens to a lot of teenagers, because your hormones are all over the place.

Don't worry: spontaneous erections happen less and less frequently as you get older. They also seem to happen less frequently for men who have recently ejaculated by masturbating or by having sex with a partner.

It is not healthy to detach yourself from part of your anatomy or give it a persona of its own (unless you are joking; which you will some day understand after you are, hopefully, married.)

This is a natural phase of puberty. Many a young lad has found the value of a large book, notebook, or journal to be useful in hiding an erection. Girls think you are just being cool carrying your book down low like that! I've taught middle school for many years, so I know. Its perfectly natural, so don't worry about it.

About 20 to 30 years from now your question will be how to wake up Mr. Penis. That will be natural too.

Ok, either you are a very witty teenage boy or a incredibly childish man. If you are a childish man, get a life! If you are a witty teenage boy, read on...
"Mr. Penis" as you refer to it, is very focused in your teenage years. It's very common for teenage boys to get erections at the worst times. I can personally vouch for that. Your body is being overwhelmed with testosterone during your teenage years, which is why you become taller, more muscular, start to grow hair on your body, etc. This increase in testosterone also causes you to be...well, horny a lot. Teenage boys are infamous for being horndogs. I was no exception. During these developing years, it doesn't take much for "Mr. Penis" to get aroused. A bumpy ride in the car, a sexy cartoon character, your pants rubbing against it. It really doesnt' take much at all. Once your get in your early 20's, your body will slow down its production of testosterone and "Mr. Penis" will require a tiny bit more effort to be aroused. You may still be growing at that point, but less so because your testosterone levels aren't so overwhelming. Just know this and understand it. It will help you understand things in the future. There is no need to punish your penis, like you asked. It doesn't have a mind of its own, I promise. It may seem that way at times, but it really doesn't. Hurt it, and you're just hurting yourself. No sense in that. There are ways of relieving the problem, but I'm sure you're well aware of that by this point. You are a teenage boy after all. Or so I'm hoping at least. Otherwise I've been talking to a pathetic middle-aged man. It will become less of a problem as time passes. By the time you're middle-aged, you'll be writing questions on here about how to get an erection!

Its very very normal , a sign of good sexual health.Enjoy it now cause when you get old it wont wake up at all or hardly ever, lol.Dont be embarassed if a girl sees you with an erection she may like that or be embarassed thats her option. So live with it and be thankful you can enjoy an erection on any given time.Only masterbate every other day though as too much is not healthly or normal.Use a pillow when masterbating and this will get rid of your sexual tensions temporarily. What you are experiencing is just normal.By asking this question on this forum you may be looking for attention cause you have some problems with your self-esteem so get help with that.Try things that you are good at like your favourite hobby, read books more often, and try the bible. Good Luck

what you're experiencing is quite normal for a male. there's no rhyme nor reason for when and where an erection takes place. it just happens.
please don't act on your erection in public. it could result in your being arrested for indescent exposure. you don't want that to follow you along all your life.
i would suggest that you willing accept these erections, let them happen, and not worry about them. did you know that fear of obtaining an erection at inappropriate times can cause the erection to occur. so if your penis springs to life during Biology class, count your blessings if the girls stare at you. they're probably wondering about it and being driven crazy by the size of your bulge. don't worry about the guys, they're just jealous that it's not happening to them.
you can't do anything to control these unexpected visits. relax with them. enjoy them. when you get home and into a safe environment, don't hesitate to masturbate yourself to relieve the pent up frustration from a hard-on that couldn't be dealt with when it occurred.

You're a riot, really.

As I'm sure you know, it's completely normal and due to the extra hormones released during puberty.

Just wait for it to go down, and in the meantime hold a bag, book, jacket or sweater over it.

Gosh I am laughing till tears are now rolling down my cheeks. You are a natural comedian. But really. This happens to girls. The only difference is you cant "see" it happening. Me & my hubby will be coming home from work & bam it hits me suddenly that "Man he looks good" & I start thinking of the things I want to do to him real badly right there in the car. Or I will be in Walmart looking for the laundry detergent & "it" happens. If you could see it on a girl I would be seriously hurting. The urge to do him has hit me in church even. You just gotta think about something else. If you do decide to punish "Mr. Penis" be careful of the consequences though. He might punish you back by not "coming" out when he needs to !!! lol

I really hope your kidding. If not: stop calling it "mr. penis", it's disturbing. if you're young and going through puberty, it's perfectly normal to get an erection at any time, start carrying around a notebook or something.

Hey man, nothing to worry about its all normal, its called pubirty, I had that until about age 18 or 19, after that its all good.

You can ask you friends in your age group, they will probably tell you that they have exactly the same problem.

No biggie ;)

Nervous tension can make it happen. It's part of puberty, and it totally sucks. Wear breifs, not boxers. It'll hide it a little better. Baggy pants, too.
