okay here goes...
I'm in college right and I'm about 6 hours away from home and I went home this weekend to find out that i have absolutely no money in my bank account at all. I owe probably over 40 $ right now.
and to top it off my car payment was already sent (300.00) and i have a phone bill of about 150 and my childcare is about 80 $.
when I was home i had a job and was making enough to get by. now that I'm at college I have no money right now all i have on me is like 50 $. It is getting cold here and my daughter needs winter clothes and other things.
i get money every other week but it's not enough. and I am supposed to be looking for an aprtment for me and my daughter right now but how am i going to pay bills when i barely have money? the only jobs available for me would be minimum wage. how would i juggle that, family time and homework?
I am about ready to quit and just get a job until I am financially ready for college.
any opinions or suggestions would help.

I really don't want to get on welfare because i was on it before and now they tell me if we get on it we will have to chase her dad for child support and i don't want to do that because we are still together.

I meant I am still with her dad. and I don't want to take out any loans because I'm afraid I will just make my self more in debt in the long run.

STICK TO YOUR EDUCATIONAL GOALS!
These things (money, life and family obligations) you mentioned are only TEMPORARY (with respect to FAMILY.)
These 'temporary' things can be taken away, your gained KNOWLEDGE will be yours to KEEP, forever.
So long as you keep your focus, everything will work out in one way or the other.

NEVER GIVE UP

I have the same problem, though I don't have kids. I know how hard it can be but you got to stand up straight and keep going. I highly suggest getting a part time job that will work around your college hours, a lot of bosses are very sympathetic and understanding to kids college courses so they work around the college hours. Then you can just juggle the rest when you get home. What I'd do is I'd work with stuff until about 7 and then do a bit of family time until 9 and work on homework and things until 10 or 11.

I would go on welfare immediately. If my daughter were to face a cold winter soon and I was uncertain as to where we would live...welfare. Plus, they strongly encourage parents to go to college. So, since you are already in college, you could receive a lot of assistence. Start looking up your local department of public aid.

There is a scholarship for everyone. Check out www.fastweb.com to apply for all types of scholarships that could help you free up money from your tution and help you out in daily living.

Depending on where you live, there may be a car sharing or car pooling company. They could save you tons in gas and insurance costs. In Chicago, we have this company called Zip Cars (www.zipcar.com). If you don't have use for a car daily, this would be a great solution.

Have you looked to your school for a list of campus jobs? They usually give prefernce to those on work-study, but they have the best jobs for working around your busy schedule. Even if they don't have jobs on campus, the career assistance program may have recommendations for off-campus jobs.

I have been overwhelmed by poverty. I still am. But I dropped out of college. I wish I tried all this stuff. I pray that you find the strength to remain true to yourself and your convictions, whatever they may be. Good luck.

I'm a full-time mom, full-time wife, part-time student & part-time employee....

If you have to just go to school part-time or 3/4 like me. I take between 2-3 classes a semester and the classes are either on Saturday morning or online or both. Don't get it wrong online classes are hard...but if you want convienence...then this is the way to go....don't just quit....there are other options.

Can't you get a student loan? The interest rate is very reasonable.

Even my little college has short term emergency funds.

Take out a loan!
